In this guide I hope to help you get the very best from the Cine EI mode on Sony’s PMW-F5 and PMW-F55 cameras. The cameras have two very distinct shooting mode, Cine EI and Custom Mode. In custom mode the camera behaves much like any other traditional video camera where what you see in the viewfinder is what’s recorded on the cards. In custom mode you can change many of the cameras settings such as gamma, matrix, sharpness to create the look you are after in-camera. “Baking-in” the look of your image in camera is great for content that will go direct to air or for fast turn around productions. But a baked-in look can be difficult to alter in post production. In addition it is very hard to squeeze every last drop of picture information in to the recordings in this mode. 阅读详细 »

Sony PMW-F55/F5 v5.0版本升级内容及目前升格注意事项

重点:pmw-f5升级f55需要$7,999,  升级支持prores编码需要$2250

v5.0版本之前,使用SR或者s-log录制升格素材时候,机内是没有降噪功能的,当升格到150格,快门会自动跳到1/250秒,曝光时间极短,素材整体噪点极大,通过常规软件处理,后期降噪效果一般,暗部细节惨不忍睹。

全新编码ProRes4444 XQ推出,ALEXA已经全面支持!

Apple just released Final Cut Pro 10.1.2, which has a host of new features including improved media management tools, Rec709 LUT support for Log footage (Arri, Sony, Canon, and Blackmagic cameras), 3DLUT support for the Arri AMIRA, and support for their new ProRes 4444 XQ codec. The new codec is 12 bit RGB, just like ProRes 4444, but at a lower compression ratio of 1:4.5 versus 1:6.8 found in ProRes 4444. That means bigger data, but better data too. ProRes 4444 HD at 29.97 fps is about 330 Mbit/s, while ProRes 4444 XQ HD at 29.97 fps is 495 Mbit/s. This can add up, as you may imagine, but it’s a great option when you want the highest quality image.  阅读详细 »
